The Senseless Moon

The senseless moon has had her swim,
but now wanes in the ebbing tide.
Dusting off the lunar decay, recall the shadows in the shallows,
not just the surface waves.
The shores were not what she had thought they had been...
the tides and swells that the moon created
began to erode the landscape, change it
so that it never was the same.
